To the southern of Wintzenheim, the Hengst is situated on a southeast facing hillside between 270 and 360 metres of altitude, covering 75.78 ha. The name Hengst is mentioned for the first time in 9th century as a donation to the Abbey of Murbach. The Hengst wine develops an untamed character in accordance with its name which signifies stallion. 
Tasting Notes The Pinot Gris Grand Cru Hengst presents a gold yellow colour with silver tints. It distinguishes itself by its refined nose, empyreumatic notes and aromas of honey. On the palate, the attack is supple. The wine is well-balanced and develops toasted flavours and a great length. 
Food Pairing This is the perfect wine to match dishes with rich flavours, such as lamb tagine, duck magret with honey sauce and roasted foie gras with fruits.
