Thomas Hensel is one of the 20 outstanding wineries in Bad Durkheim (Pfalz, Germany), managing a 17-hectare vineyard right next to the local airfield. At just 35 years old, Thomas is ambitious, energetic, and innovative, bringing a fresh perspective to winemaking.

The Pfalz area in Germany is well known for high quality Spatburgunders (Pinot Noir). This is due to the warmer climate in this region, which allows the grapes to mature to perfect condition. This beautiful wine is mostly matured in stainless steel tanks. About 10% matured in used oak barrels.

Tasting notes
Gorgeous bright red in the glass. An exciting bouquet with aromas of juicy cherry, wild strawberries and delicate wooden tones. In the mouth full, juicy and complex with integrated tannin and a peppery finish. A bottled masterpiece!

Food pairing
Excellent to serve with delicate types of meats like quail, pheasant, rabbit and roasted chicken.
