This 100% oak-aged Sauvignon Blanc comes from a single vineyard in Rioja Oriental, uniquely situated at 400 meters above sea level to preserve freshness in this rather hot region. After fermentation at controlled cooler temperatures, the wine is aged for 6 months in second-use French oak barrels.

Oak-aged Sauvignon Blanc, often called Fume Blanc, is relatively rare. This style gained popularity in California, where winemaker Robert Mondavi introduced it in the late 1960s to differentiate his oak-aged Sauvignon Blanc from the typical unoaked versions. The oak aging imparts a smoky, complex character, adding richness and depth that set it apart from the more common crisp styles of Sauvignon Blanc.

Tasting Notes
Clean and brilliant pale yellow color with green hints Very expressive wine in the nose, with the notes of tropical fruits (pineapple and mango) and floral aromas of white rose petals blended with some elegant vanilla touch from the barrel. Easy approach in the mouth, wine has a remarkable volume, creaminess and a very balanced acidity. Good structure with the tropical fruits flavors and a very long and pleasant finish.

This oak-aged Sauvignon Blanc with tropical notes pairs perfectly with dishes such as grilled shrimp, exotic fruit salads, or roasted chicken with mango salsa.
