This Barolo is a pure expression of 100% Nebbiolo grapes, sourced from the famous Cannubi hill in Barolo. The vineyard is known for its soil rich in sand and limestone, which gives the wine its elegant and harmonious structure. The grapes are carefully harvested by hand.
The wine undergoes a traditional vinification process. After a long maceration to extract intense colors and robust tannins, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The wine then matures for at least 24 months in large oak barrels, followed by further bottle aging before it is released on the market.
Tasting Notes
The wine has an intense, clear garnet-red color. The nose presents a complex and rich bouquet of ripe red fruit such as cherries and plums. These fruity notes are complemented by sweet, floral aromas of dried flowers and violets. Furthermore, there are spicy and earthy nuances of tobacco, licorice, and cocoa.
The taste is powerful yet elegant. The wine is full-bodied and broad on the palate, but at the same time fresh and lively due to its bright acidity. The tannins are soft and supple, and the wine has a long, lingering finish where notes of licorice and mint also emerge. This Barolo is both complex and accessible, with an impressive layered quality.
Food Pairing
This versatile Barolo is a perfect partner for hearty dishes. It pairs excellently with red meat, game dishes, and aged cheeses. Due to its powerful structure and supple tannins, it is an excellent choice with a juicy steak, roasted leg of lamb, or a game stew.
