Grape variety

Made of 100% Primitivo grapes. This great and renown DOC represents the essence of Apulia. Hand-made and overmatured grape harvesting, soft pressing and controlled fermentation, partial refinement in wood.

With support of renown Apulian winemaker Beppe we decided to challenge the king of Apulian wines. Primitivo di Manduria DOC gets its name from the precocity of maturation that makes precisely on of the first varieties to be harvested in late August. This characteristic however, does not prevent sugars from increasing their concentration so much that the main particularity of the wines obtained from the primitive vine is its alcohol content, with a minimumgradation of 14 degrees for the DOC. The denomination of controlled origin was created in 1998 to increase uniqueness and valorization of the Manduria Primitivo.

Tasting notes
An intense garnet red colour. The bouquet is wide and complex, wit fruity notes of currants and plum jam and light spicy hints of cocoa, vanilla and tobacco. A full and round body, with soft and sweet tannins and notes of red berries, spices and coffee.

Food pairing
Great with red meats, roast, game and savoury cheeses.
