Château Rauzan-Segla is one of the historic estates of Margaux and holds the prestigious Second Growth classification of 1855. The vineyard sits on exceptional gravel soils that allow Cabernet Sauvignon to flourish, supported by Merlot and small amounts of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. The 2021 vintage highlights the elegance and aromatic finesse that define Rauzan-Segla, offering purity of fruit, refined structure, and the graceful character typical of Margaux.

Tasting Notes
Deep ruby in colour with bright reflections. The nose opens with aromas of blackcurrant, red cherry, and plum, accompanied by delicate floral notes of violet and rose petals. Subtle hints of cedar, graphite, and gentle spice add complexity. On the palate, the wine is silky and well structured, with fine tannins and vibrant freshness. Layers of cassis, dark berries, and soft spice lead to a long and elegant finish.

Food Pairing
Pairs beautifully with roast lamb, grilled beef, or duck breast. It also complements mushroom based dishes, truffle recipes, and aged cheeses such as Comté or Gruyère. Decanting will allow the wine to open and reveal its full aromatic depth.

Vintage Report 2021
Margaux experienced strong variation between estates due to the difficult growing season. Careful vineyard work and strict selection were crucial to achieving concentration. The best wines show aromatic complexity and refined tannins typical of the appellation.
