This wine is made of 100% Shiraz. The vines grow on a soil of dark, rich loam over limestone and ironstone. The vines are planted in 1843. The wine ages in 69% new and 31% old French oak Hogsheads and Barriques for 24 months.
Tasting notes Medium depth crimson with purple hues. A rich and intense aroma of ripe Satsuma plum, mocha and ANZAC cookies mingle with hints of cedar, violets and sweet spice. Sweet, juicy fruit is balanced wonderfully with briary and sweet spice and lovely, silky tannins. A medium bodied wine showing great complexity with savoury hints, cedar and biscuit, which, in combination flows through to the lengthy, fruitful and spicy finish.
